Smashed Avocado with Mango & Lime on Sourdough

Spice up your Sunday brunch with this deliciously simple dish. You could even ditch the regular tea for a chai latte for a special treat.

We love using sourdough in our sandwich recipes as its sour, vinegary notes are a great complement to the sweet, spicy notes of our chutneys and sauces. We’ve suggested using our Zesty Mango & Lime Sauce as a drizzle for this recipe, but you can use your favourite chutney under the avocado if you prefer.


• One thick slice of sourdough bread
• 3 cherry tomatoes, sliced
• 1 Avocado, roughly mashed
• Geeta’s Zesty Mango & Lime Sauce
• ¼ small red onion, chopped
• Salt and black pepper to season


1. Peel and destone the avocado and smash roughly
2. Toast slice of sourdough bread (spread with vegan spread or butter if preferred)
3. Spread a generous dollop of smashed avocado on top of the bread (add salt and black pepper to taste)
4. Arrange sliced cherry tomatoes on top
5. Drizzle over with sauce and garnish with chopped red onions
